2 500 km of long-distance cycling routes and “green” routes

With a combination of short and long-distance cycling routes, Alsace has something for all cyclists. The region is crossed by three EuroVelo routes : EuroVelo 15 - Rhine Cycle Route, from Andermatt to Rotterdam, EuroVelo 5- Via Romea Francigena, from London to Rome and EuroVelo 6. Adjoining this framework, you will find the Alsace Wine Road cycle route and cross-border routes to Offenburg, Dahn, Baden-Baden and Freiburg-im-Breisgau.

The “green” routes run along Alsace’s many canal towpaths and disused railways which are appropriately surfaced and well-maintained for comfortable, safe cycling. In addition to these touring routes, throughout Alsace there are circular themed trails covering regional or local distances (over or under 50 km respectively). With various types of terrain (flat along the Rhine, hilly in the winegrowing area and more rugged in the Vosges mountains), Alsace is an ideal cycling holiday destination.
