Since January 1, 2023, the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) has come into effect within the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg. All motor vehicles must display a Crit'Air sticker on their windshields.

The Crit’Air certificate is a national tool used by many French cities, indicating a vehicle's pollution level. The most polluting vehicles and those classified as "unclassified" will not be allowed to circulate within the LEZ. If you haven't done so already, remember to order your Crit'Air sticker!

Located at the borders of Germany and Switzerland, Alsace is served by two major highways: the A4 from Paris via Reims and Metz, and the A36 from Dijon to Mulhouse via Belfort and Besançon. You can also take the West Bypass of Strasbourg to avoid the Eurometropolis. To reach Strasbourg, head towards Schiltigheim from the north and Illkirch-Graffenstaden from the south of Alsace.

Where to park your car in Alsace?

The City of Strasbourg offers a diversified parking service with pricing tailored to different users.

Park and Ride (P+R) facilities allow you to park your vehicle for the day and benefit from a round-trip public transportation ticket for all passengers in the vehicle (up to 7 people traveling together). The ticket is valid for the outbound and return journey for one hour after validation, with or without transfers.

You can also opt for a parking subscription through the "Prendre ma place avec Parcus" platform or directly from the attendant upon entering the parking facility.

The cities of Colmar and Mulhouse also provide a variety of parking options, including Park and Ride (in Mulhouse) and free parking spaces.

Alsace has two major international airports:

You can take the EuroAirport Shuttle to the Saint-Louis train station, then catch a direct TER train to Mulhouse, Colmar, Sélestat, and Strasbourg.

From Strasbourg Airport, you can reach Strasbourg by train in just 8 minutes. For TER tickets from the Airport to the Strasbourg train station, the one-way fare is €2.90, or you can opt for the TER+Tram Airport ticket for €4.70.
