BL545 - Down the River Saar

This circuit takes you from the leisure port in Harskirchen down the River Saar and the very broad valley of La Honau. This protected area is home to a fragile natural habitat. The circuit leads you through the villages of Keskastel (Le Castel Restaurant, L’Alsace Restaurant, La Sarre Restaurant), Schopperten (Old Pear Tree Farm) and finally on to Sarre-Union (Dommel Square, Renaissance house, St. Georges’ Church, Reformed Temple, a number of restaurants, etc.) famous for its renowned factories specialised in making straw hats and panamas (De Langenhagen), pearl headdresses (Karcher and Schmidt) and rope-making (Dommel).
